Report trom the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council On the application of the Directive on the residence permit for victims of trafficking


On 29 April 2004 the Council adopted Directive 2004/81/EC on the residence permit issued to third-country nationals who are victims of trafficking in human beings or who have been the subject of an action to facilitate illegal immigration, who cooperate with the competent authorities. It applies to all Member States except Denmark, Ireland and the UK.
The report has been prepared in accordance with Article 16 of the Directive, which provides that the Commission shall report to the European Parliament and the Council on the application of this Directive in the Member States and propose any necessary amendments.
It is based on a study on the implementation of the Directive. The Member States have been given the opportunity to revise and update the factual information.
