Human Trafficking Assessment Tool (HTAT) Consultant, Nepal

The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) is seeking a consultant to serve as the lead country assessor for the Human Trafficking Assessment Tool (HTAT) report in Nepal. Using the HTAT methodology, the assessor will spend 3 weeks conducting research, interviews, and focus groups in Nepal, and will then draft the country assessment, including both de jure and de facto analysis. The Human Trafficking Assessment Tool (HTAT) is a mechanism for assessing a country’s laws and practices in light of the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, Supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (Trafficking Protocol). 

Requirements: The HTAT assessor must have at least 5 years of legal experience dealing with issues pertaining to combating trafficking in persons. The assessor must have excellent writing, analytical and interpersonal skills. A comparative legal background and prior experience conducting country assessments are strongly preferred.
